Pastor Nelson Castorillo

The first opportunity to meet our new Pastor, Rev. Nelson Castorillo, is Friday night during VBS. I just spoke with Pastor Nelson via Facebook Messenger and confirmed he will be in attendance.

“I’m excited to see all of you. Yes I will be there tomorrow and see how your VBS is being done and meet some of your key leaders. Thank you for reaching out to me. God bless you,” Castorillo said.  He also asked this of me, “I wanna ask special favor since you’re (a member of) the trustees, if you don’t mind providing name tags for everyone this Sunday. I appreciate that very much. Thanks.” I gladly obliged (name tags and sharpies will be available as you enter the sanctuary Sunday), and he continued, “I need to learn all your names as quickly as possible.”

His First Sunday Message

Please join us this Sunday to welcome the Castorillo’s to our church and to enjoy Rev. Castorillo’s first sermon in Wilmington as Pastor.

Call to Action!

Call friends and family who have not visited our church in a while and let them know Sunday is a good day to dip their toes back into the refreshing waters of Wilmington FUMC.

Welcome, Pastor Nelson and Rose. We look forward to getting to know you. We first met you through CI. We are requesting that you call us Uncle Lawry and Auntie Trini. Our proper names are Lawrence and Trinidad Yadao. We have been members at Wilmington FUMC for over 30 years and love our church family. Uncle is a member of SPPRC and I am on the Board of Trustees. I have been playing the piano and working with the choir for about 20 years and Uncle still sings in the choir.

Thanks for your warm welcome Auntie Trini and Uncle Lawrence. I look forward visiting with you and all the members of our church. I also thank Phil for helping me this morning providing the name tags for everyone and turning on the tv monitor. By the way, we are going to have special vharge conference on the 17th. Take it easy. Blessings,

Returned from vacation and was greeted by our smiling new Pastor Nelson and lovely wife, Rose. In fact, seemed like EVERYONE was smiling! Very contagious church family! As new SPPRC Chair and all the members of our beloved church, we welcome you, Pastor and Rose. Your first sermon was inspiring! There are many blessings that lay ahead for our over 100 year old church. Everyone, bring your Bible!
    God is certainly good!
