Immigration Training
The New Federation of Asian American United Methodists (NFAAUM) invites you to join their first “Game Changers” Virtual Immigration Training for Youth and Young Adults on April 23-24, 2021.
The two-day virtual training, in partnership with General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR), is open to all Asian American youth & young adults ages 14-35 years old who are active members of The United Methodist Church.
We will focus mainly on worship, story-telling, and leadership training regarding immigration issues, racial injustice, and the challenges of COVID-19 especially among the most vulnerable people (immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees, and undocumented).
Youth and young adults will be trained to organize their respective faith communities to support and advocate for the most vulnerable people. Expected outcomes include: (1) to learn about the current immigration issues impacting communities; (2) to understand the theological basis for faith communities to stand in solidarity with immigrants; (3) to be equipped in faith-rooted organizing and power mapping.
Please register now until April 15th @ https://www.immigrationjusticetraining.com/.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Rev. Nelson Castorillo, Chairperson, Immigration Training Task Force, at (909) 538-7606.
