Tomorrow our new pastor, Rev. Nelson Castorillo, will deliver his first sermon. Here is his preview of tomorrow’s topic:
The title of my sermon is “The Unfinished Business Continues.” This sermon is based on Luke 2:49 KJV where Jesus intentionally decided to stay behind in the temple when he was 12 years old. When his parents realized that their son Jesus was not with them they returned to Jerusalem and found him talking and discussing with the teachers of the law. When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.” Then Jesus said, “Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s business? I’m gonna talk about what business we engage in as a church. Do we even know what this business is all about. How can we benefit from this business if we get involved?
Tell your friends and family to join us for the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Wilmington FUMC. Especially call those who, for whatever reason, stopped coming to our church over the months and years. Perhaps now is a great time to remind them what we have together in Wilmington, and with something new to offer (Pastor Nelson), they just might be re-energized to worship and pray with us again.
