 Welcome! Faith at work! New Picture Galleries!  That has been the story of the First United Methodist Church of Wilmington. Since 1914, the California Annual Conference, the founding conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the state of California, authorized the Establishment of the Los Angeles Circuit of the denomination which included the cities of Comptonville, Los Nietos, El Monte, and Wilmington. Since that time our work has been a vital ministry and place of worship especially for the professionals and personnel working from the nearby shipyard in Long Beach. Now our church is home to over two hundred members which include a mixture of Filipino-Americans, African-Americans, and Caucasians. In keeping with the spirit and tradition of Methodism, we seek to experience God's message of hope and love through Jesus, worship, witness and serve in ways that are relevant to our time. When you worship with us, you make a valuable witness. When you share yourself with us, you enable us to grow. Above all, you help us to bring the message of Jesus Christ to a world that is searching for answers. Here you will find a spiritual home. You will be cared for and learn how to minister for others.
